Brighton and Hove Faith Covenant
City council is asked to sign up to a covenant
between it and the faith communities of the city to work
constructively, openly and collaboratively together for the good of
the city and all its communities.
It follows on from the work of a All Party Parliamentary Group on
Faith in Society. The APPG drafted a Covenant which can be adopted
by faith groups and local authorities in cities across the UK. It
stated that together, local authorities and faith communities
should work out a local version of the commitments in the draft
covenant, according to the priorities and needs of that
locality.
