Safer nights out for everyone.

We the undersigned petition Brighton & Hove Council to make a change on the way that students go clubbing by introducing safeguarding officers located outside of clubs, bars and local student hotspots.

This petition comes as the rise of not only spiking continues but the treatment of drunk people both inside and outside of the clubs, numerous people have been simply kicked out for being too drunk and more worryingly have been told to leave when telling a trusted member of staff that they believe they have been spiked. I believe that having a team of people to ensure that people can get home safely by taking them to a bus stop, calling a taxi or ambulances if needed as clubs will not currently take allegations seriously. As people we should not be left alone on the streets when intoxicated. It is undeniable that this petition is needed as currently spiking is on the rise, everyone is out to have a good and more importantly, a safe time which should not be impeded by the thought of getting spiked or being told to leave a place with trained first aiders for the streets of Brighton. I also urge students to not be afraid and offer assistance to someone who looks out of it or is too drunk, one day it could be you.
